Nick Higham and the BBC crew send live transmissions from Arran
with Don MacNeish & Howard Wood from COAST & David Donnan from S.N.H.

Inch by inch the realities of a Marine protected area containing a complete No Take Zone in Lamlash Bay become ever closer. Interviewed during the day were Patrick Stewart, Kenny MacNab & Alan McCreath of the Clyde Fishermen’s Association, & David Donnan Senior fisheries officer from Scottish Natural Heritage, plus Don & Howard from COAST.  It was a day when during the interviews it was agreed that all sides had more to gain from a joint proposal which would not only include the COAST proposals but further Scallop Regeneration/reseeding areas in the Clyde.

As David Donnan said “set up correctly with proper monitoring it should be a Win, Win situation with benefits for the fisheries & the environment”
