COAST DIVERS CONTINUE TO MONITOR LAMLASH BAY
Through out 2007 local divers have been regularly diving sites within the Bay to monitor the biodiversity of the Bay.
One interesting species that has appeared regularly in three separate places is the very elusive Tadpole fish Raniceps raninus. Sean Ferris of the Arran Sub-Aqua club has been recording them and has taken many photos this summer.

Through summer and autumn 2006, juvenile (size of your finger nail) King Scallops & Queen Scallops were very abundant in the bay. In the Maerl beds of the Clauchlands shore thousands were attached to the Maerl & seaweeds.

As with most species you have good and poor years for recruitment. 2006 seemed looking through our own eyes to be a good year. Whereas this year, 2007, I have spent quite a few dives trying to spot and photograph them but I have found it very difficult to spot any at all.
